Korean Heritage Series_ #7 '제등' (Je-Deung, Lantern)
제등(je-deung) is a type of traditional Korean lantern. It was commonly used to light the way in the dark.
This 3D asset is based on the structure of the original reference, the picture on the windows has been replaced with 초충도(cho-chung-do, The painting of plants and bugs) by 신사임당(Sin-saimdang), one of the most important woman painters in Joseon Dynasty(1392~1897, Korea).
There is a support in the middle so that it can hold the lamp inside. Windows are made of thin paper, so the lights come through and spread softly. The holes and spaces on the frame are for ventilation. 제등(Je-dueng), the lantern also had a wooden handle to carry it easily.
